Stalin, on Thursday (February 5, 2026), unveiled the statue of late actor ‘Kalaivanar’ N.S. Krishnan, which was relocated from Gopathi Narayanaswami Chetty Road in T. Nagar to the Kalaivanar Arangam campus on Wallajah Road in Chennai. After the actor died in August 1957, his statue was installed on G.N. Chetty Road-Thirumalai Pillai Road junction in January 1969, when C.N. Annadurai was the Chief Minister. On the request of the late actor’s family members, the statue has been relocated. Ministers K.N. Nehru, E.V. Velu, T.M. Anbarasan, M.P. Saminathan, Ma. Subramanian, P.K. Sekarbabu; Chennai Mayor R. Priya and senior officials participated.
