HYDERABAD

The Central government has released another ₹640 crore to Gram Panchayats in Telangana as part of the pending 15th Finance Commission funds. The Centre had earlier released ₹640 crore, and with the latest instalment, all dues for the financial year 2024–25 have been cleared.

Speaking on the occasion, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka said the process of releasing funds had been expedited as the State government has been submitting the necessary utilisation certificates (UCs) and other reports to the Central government from time to time.

However, the Minister said that around ₹1,255 crore for the financial year 2025–26 is yet to be released by the Central government and urged it to release the remaining arrears without delay as the term of the 15th Finance Commission is set to end in 15 days. The Minister said that timely release of funds would help accelerate infrastructure development at the village level.

The Minister said the State government aims to accelerate rural development by strengthening Gram Panchayats.
