A centre of excellence has been established at the Department of Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy, Tamil Nadu Government Multi Super Speciality Hospital (TNGMSSH), Omandurar Estate. Set up at a cost of ₹9 crore, the centre aims to provide specialised treatment for injuries sustained by sportspersons. Shortly after Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin inaugurated the centre on Tuesday, Health Minister Ma. Subramanian told reporters that there is a facility at the Nehru Indoor Stadium to provide specialised treatment for injuries sustained by athletes.
