As part of preparations for the forthcoming Assembly elections, 80 personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) from Gujarat have arrived in Mayiladuthurai district on Wednesday to assist in election security arrangements. Officials said the personnel, led by an assistant commandant, have been deployed to strengthen security in the district where polling will be held in three Assembly constituencies.
