Additional Deputy Commissioner P. Shivaraju, on Saturday, visited a training centre in Hunsur taluk where enumerators and supervisors are being trained as part of Census 2027.

During his visit, Dr. Shivaraju reviewed the ongoing training process and collected information from officials regarding its implementation. He provided guidance to enumerators and supervisors on the importance of the Census, their roles, and the procedures to be followed during the exercise.

He instructed the trainees to make use of the self-enumeration facility through the web portal and emphasized its effective implementation. Demonstrating the process himself, he successfully completed a self-enumeration to illustrate its usage.

Officials from various departments were present at the training centre.

For the smooth implementation of the exercise, the district administration has created 6,013 enumeration blocks and deployed a total of 7,748 personnel, including 6,540 enumerators and 1,207 supervisors, all of whom are being trained for the exercise. Hunsur is one of the taluks where the training is being conducted.

The census aims to collect comprehensive data on literacy, education, housing, urbanisation, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, language, religion, migration, disability, and other socio-economic and cultural parameters.

Citizens can participate in self-enumeration from April 1 to 15 by logging on to the official portal www.se.census.gov.inand responding to 33 questions related to housing and household conditions.
