The Convention of Baptist Churches of Northern Circars (CBCNC) on Saturday passed a resolution urging the government to immediately protect church and Christian missionary properties across the State.

The association convened an emergency meeting at the SIIMS Memorial Baptist Church in Vizianagaram, where representatives discussed an action plan to step up efforts to press the government on the issue. They expressed concern over threats to church properties located in Vijayawada, Avanigadda, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Kakinada and other places.

Chairman of the CBCNC Trust Association and Programme Committee R.S. John alleged that a few persons with vested interests were illegally transferring church properties worth crores of rupees to builders without the consent of CBCNC representatives or other authorised persons. He demanded that the government take swift action against those involved in executing fraudulent deeds.

CBCNC president M.A. Naidu, secretary D.P. Kumar and others were present.
