The Coimbatore Bar Association (CBA) on Friday felicitated Madras High Court Judge Justice C. Kumarappan and 27 senior advocates, who completed 50 years of standing at the Bar.

A former member of CBA, Mr. Justice Kumarappan recalled that the Coimbatore District Court campus was the first classroom of his legal profession and launchpad that helped him undertake various endeavours. A citation was presented to Mr. Justice Kumarappan, who had practised before the Coimbatore District Court for 15 years before joining the judicial service. Similarly, citations were presented to 27 members of CBA for completing 50 years in the profession.

Public Prosecutor V. Ravichandran, Government Pleader V. Arunkumar, Vice-chairman of Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry N.V. Nagasubramaniam, advocate S. Durairaj, CBA president R. Balakrishnan and CBA secretary K. Sudeesh spoke. Other office bearers of CBA, its members, court staff and family members of the 27 senior lawyers were present at the event held on the court campus.
