The six non-compliant power plants are located in Punjab, Haryana, and U.P. | Photo Credit: file photo The Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) has imposed a fine of ₹61.85 crore on six thermal power plants (TPPs) within a 300-km radius of Delhi for non-compliance with biomass co-firing norms, according to a statement issued on Wednesday. The pollution watchdog has directed the six power plants, located in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, to deposit the “environmental compensation” by April 15 and submit proof of the same.
