MP for Dakshina Kannada Capt. Brijesh Chowta on Tuesday urged Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to sanction a weekend special train service between Bengaluru and Mangaluru to cater to increased weekend travel demand.

In a letter to Mr. Vaishnaw, Capt. Chowta said: “I wish to draw your kind attention to the need for introducing a dedicated weekend train service between Bengaluru and Mangaluru (Mangaluru Central), catering to the significant population from coastal Karnataka currently residing and  working in Bengaluru.”
