Johan Sathyadas Capstone Multi-Speciality Clinic has launched Adult and Travel Vaccination Services at its T. Nagar facility on April 10, emphasising the need to improve adult immunisation coverage in India. V. Ramasubramanian, co-founder and director of Medical Services, said adult vaccination is a key component of preventive healthcare, particularly for individuals with co-morbidities. He noted that immunity declines with age, increasing susceptibility to infections, yet vaccine uptake among adults remains low. Coverage for vaccines such as influenza, pneumococcal disease and hepatitis B continues to be under 2% in the general population.
