Business meet for SHGs to be held in Krishnagiri on February 7

A business meet for the entrepreneurial ventures of Self-help groups (SHGs) is proposed to be held on February 7, at Hotel Hosur Hills in Mookandapalli in Krishnagiri. The meet is envisioned as a regional-level marketing platform for SHGs and their produce. The event will cater to the SHGs of Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Ranipettai, Salem, Namakkal, and Thirupattur.

Women SHGs manufacturing millets and millet-based foods, food items, nursery saplings, greens, coconut and coir-based items, household cleaning items, jute and cloth bags, lentils, savouries, sweets, home-made masalas, organic soaps, agricultural produce, floor mats, organic fertilizers among other produces are encouraged to participate.

The meet will witness participation of retailers and wholesalers, exporters, processing units, hotels, producer companies, panchayat-level federations, poverty reduction committees, proprietor and entrepreneurs, village-level industrial boards, small and cottage industries, agriculture engineering and marketing, and Horticulture Department. They will have a common platform to procure the produce in bulk, thereby generating market for women SHGs.

Collector C. Dinesh Kumar has invited SHGs to participate in the business meet. The SHGs must register their participation and slot by February 2 at Room no. 11 and 13 at the Collectorate.
