HYDERABAD Former minister and Deputy Leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in the Assembly T. Harish Rao has demanded that the Congress government in the State immediately resume procurement operations of jowar, maize and bengalgram at the minimum support price, stopped in the name of quota, or else farmers would suffer a loss of at least ₹10,000 per acre in case of bengalgram alone. He pointed out that several farmers did not get bonus amounts for paddy sold at the procurement centres in the last Rabi (Yasangi) and demanded payment of bonus to all farmers selling Grade A varieties of paddy this Yasang.
