The 11-party alliance led by the Jamaat-e-Islami has won 77 seats. This was the first national election since the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government in August 2024. The National Citizen Party (NCP), founded by student leaders who spearheaded the anti-Hasina agitation in 2024 and entered the election claiming the legacy of the “revolution”, won just 6 seats.
