The BJP’s Puducherry unit has launched a 15-day programme to gather suggestions from the public for drafting the party’s manifesto for the upcoming Assembly polls in the Union Territory (UT).

Union Minister and BJP’s election-in charge for Puducherry Mansukh Mandaviya launched the drive to seek public opinion for drafting the manifesto. The party had formed a 20-member committee, under Speaker R. Selvam and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) S. Selvaganbathy, to create the manifesto.

Mr. Mandaviya, who was on a two-day visit to the UT, also participated in several election-related work. He chaired a meeting of the Election Management Committee and interacted with booth-level agents for the Manavely and Mudaliarpet Assembly constituencies.

During his interaction with the party workers, Mr. Mandaviya urged them to promote the development and welfare initiatives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The party workers were told to inform the voters about the good governance of the AINRC-BJP government. The Minister also urged party cadres to make the voter aware of the benefits of having a “double engine” government in the UT.

Home Minister A. Namassivayam, Speaker R. Selvam, party legislators, BJP in-charge for the UT Nirmal Kumar Surana, and president V.P. Ramalingam were present.
