BJP observes ‘Samarpan Diwas’ in Vijayawada to mark Deendayal Upadhyaya’s death anniversary

The Bharatiya Janata Party observed Samarpan Diwas at its State office in Vijayawada on Wednesday to mark the death anniversary of its ideologue and senior leader Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. The programme was held in a solemn manner with the participation of senior leaders and office-bearers.

NTR district president Adduri Sriram, programme convener Lakshmi, State secretaries and other key leaders were present.

Speaking as chief guest, State chief spokesperson Valluru Jayaprakash referred to the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on February 11 and said the party continues to seek clarity on the episode. He said Samarpan Diwas was being observed in line with the directions of the national and State leadership to carry forward Upadhyaya’s ideals among the people.

Mr. Jayaprakash said Deendayal Upadhyaya played a crucial role in building the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, the precursor to the BJP, along with Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee. He noted that the philosophy of Integral Humanism propounded by Upadhyaya remains a guiding principle for national development and for building a strong and united India. Describing it as a comprehensive and inclusive vision, he said the ideology continues to inspire the youth.

Party leaders said the programme aimed not only at educating cadre but also at creating awareness among the public about Upadhyaya’s message, dedication and spirit of sacrifice.

Among those who attended were State secretary Boddu Nagalakshmi, district secretaries Kolapalli Ganesh and Paila Suresh, Dr. Lakshmi, Sharmila Khatoon, Ratnakumari, Praveen Jain Ranka and other functionaries.
