The BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran on Thursday said that his party did not exert any pressure on the AIADMK on allocation of seats in the Tamil Nadu Assembly election. In a brief interaction with journalists at Alangudi, Mr. Nagenthran said he would meet AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Friday following the latter’s meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Thursday. He would discuss the next course of action. Asked whether the BJP was exerting pressure on the AIADMK general secretary with regard to the number of Assembly seats to be allocated to it, Mr. Nagenthran said as far as the BJP was concerned there was no pressure on any of its allies and that they were acting freely. To another question, he said what was important at this juncture was who should not be the Chief Minister and not the number of seats.
