The DMK MP, Kanimozhi, on Friday alleged that the BJP did not allow the Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, to speak in the Lok Sabha. The DMK election manifesto committee headed by Ms. Kanimozhi met various sections of people at a marriage hall in Salem and collected their views.

Later, speaking to reporters, Ms. Kanimozhi said that many things that did not happen in the past in the Parliament are happening now. Mr. Gandhi tried to speak for two days in the Lok Sabha, but BJP members allegedly did not allow him to speak. Even Union Ministers using various strategies did not allow Mr. Gandhi to speak.

It is usual procedure for the Prime Minister to speak on the motion of thanks on the President’s address. Alleging that women MPs might attack the Prime Minister, he (PM) did not come to the Lok Sabha. “We do not know how they (BJP) are going to give an explanation for this,” Ms. Kanimozhi added.
