Members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a demonstration in Tiruchi on Saturday, condemning the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government for failing to address the alleged rise in drug abuse in the State. The protest organised by the youth wing of the party was held near the M.G.R. statue at Marakkadai where party cadres and youth wing members from across the district took part. Raising slogans against the State government, the protesters voiced concern over what they described as an alarming rise in narcotics circulation and its adverse impact on young people. They urged the government to implement stringent measures and strengthen enforcement to effectively curb the menace.
