A 22-year-old man was arrested for performing dangerous stunts on a motorcycle without a registration plate to shoot a social media video, the police said on Wednesday. The viral video shows Tushar Puniya riding a bike and opening the doors of driver’s seats on moving DTC buses and goods-carrying vehicles. According to the police, a video went viral on Instagram on February 16 showing a man riding a motorcycle recklessly in traffic and opening the doors of moving vehicles, endangering commuters. Acting on the viral clip, the New Usmanpur police in North East Delhi took cognisance of the incident and registered an FIR under Sections 125 and 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 39, 194 and 194-D of the Motor Vehicles Act. During the investigation, the police gathered technical and local intelligence to identify the accused. He was traced and arrested as Mr. Puniya, a resident of Khajuri Khas in northeast Delhi. The motorcycle used in the offence was recovered from his possession. Puniya has about 62,000 followers on Instagram and can be seen performing stunts on bikes in several reels.
