The film, which was earlier set to be released in theatres on April 2, 2026, will now release on May 15, 2026, the makers announced through a social media post on Wednesday evening. The film marks a reunion of Akshay with director Priyadarshan after the 2010 comedy-drama, Khatta Meetha. The makers shared a poster of Akshay from the film to make the announcement. They wrote in caption, “Bangle se ek khabar aayi hai (A news has come from the mansion)! The doors open on 15th May 2026. See you in cinemas.” The film has been written by Rohan Shankar, Abilash Nair and Priyadarshan from a story by Akash Kaushik. It also stars Paresh Rawal, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jisshu Sengupta and Mithila Palkar in pivotal roles. Bhooth Bangla is produced by Akshay’s Cape of Good Films, along with Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures. Akshay and Priyadarshan will also be working together for Haiwaan and Hera Pheri 3.
