Kerala High Court judge Devan Ramachandran has said that development projects will not succeed unless steps are taken to ensure basic facilities. Those formulating various projects today need to think about the development requirements in the next 50 years, he was quoted as saying in his inaugural address at the seminar on ‘Kochi’s development through Kalamasssery’ organised by the Kalamassery Poura Samithi. He said that the benefits of development should reach equally to all. He stressed the need to have pedestrian-friendly footpaths in the city. The judge also pointed out the lack of street lights affecting commuting in the night hours, according to a release.
