Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister P. Narayana has announced that the Barashaheed Dargah in Nellore district will be developed with an outlay of ₹9.8 crore, adding that the nation’s first-ever international school for the benefit of minorities is coming up in Nellore.

Mr. Narayana reached the Barashaheed Dargah in the city on Saturday, along with Andhra Pradesh Waqf Board Chairman Abdul Aziz, TDP Nellore rural constituency co-convener Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy, Mayor Sujatha Ashok and Deputy Mayor Roop Kumar Yadav, to participate in the special prayer on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

After the prayers, the Minister said that the Dargah’s development works, which had stalled during the previous YSRCP’s tenure, would be resumed.

While appreciating the Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy’s efforts to develop the Dargah, he recalled that the ‘Shadi Manzil’ in the city’s 42nd division was also opened during the NDA’s regime.

The exclusive school coming up at a cost of ₹20 crore on the land belonging to the Waqf Board would be built on international standards, with modern designs and amenities such as swimming pool.
