Banned flex boards used for election campaigning were seized during a flash inspection conducted at various printing establishments within the Kochi Corporation limits. A fine of ₹25,000 was imposed on an establishment found to have violated the law. The District Enforcement Squad has intensified its action against violations of the green protocol enforced as part of the Assembly elections. The inspection was carried out to ensure strict adherence to election rules and the green protocol. Around 25 kg of prohibited flex boards were recovered from a printing shop, according to an official communication. District Collector G. Priyanka said the inspection would be extended to other parts of the district in the coming days to curb such violations during the election period. Strict action will be taken if any violations are found, she said. The Collector has instructed that only eco-friendly materials be used for campaigning and that items such as plastic, single-use materials, PVC flex, and banners be avoided. Legal action will continue to be initiated against those who violate the green protocol, she added in the communication.
