RAJESH Ahead of the proposed ‘Bharat Bandh’ on Thursday (February 12), bankers staged demonstration here on Wednesday to highlight their demands and express their support to he nationwide strike. As the 11 Left Central trade unions have called for nationwide ‘Bharat Bandh’ against the Centre’s ‘anti-labour, anti-farmer and anti-poor policies’ on Thursday, the bankers staged demonstration on Wednesday to show their solidarity for the strike. Led by the coordinator of the bankers’ associations Krishnamurthy, the protestors staged demonstration in front of the Canara Bank’s South Beach Road Branch here. The protestors said the Centre, which had enacted anti-farmer, anti-labour and anti-poor laws, had tightened the noose around the agriculturists further after the United States unilaterally decided to dump the US agro products in India without any control. They also said the Centre should give-up its moves to crush the trade unions. Similar agitations were organised in Tirunelveli, Tenkasi and Kanniyakumari districts also.
