The Huzurabad bandh called by the organisations spearheading an agitation against the proposed dumping yard (Waste to Energy processing facility) at Sirsapalli near Huzurabad passed off peacefully on Friday. Shops and business establishments voluntarily downed their shutters in various parts of Huzurabad town. The bandh saw active participation of people in support of the JAC’s agitation against the government’s reported move to set up a dumping yard (WTE processing unit) near Sirsapalli village in Huzurabad mandal. A motorbike rally was organised in the town in support of the bandh. Meanwhile, the relay fast by the members of the JAC at the Ambedkar chowk in Huzurabad entered the 13thday on Friday.
