B.Sc student ends life allegedly over pet cat’s death

A 20-year-old B.Sc student ended her life at her residence in Meerpet on Wednesday, reportedly unable to cope with the sudden death of her pet cat.

The deceased, identified as Himabindu, is said to have consumed poison at her home in Venkatadri Colony, Badangpet. According to Meerpet Inspector N. Shankar Kumar, the young woman had been living with the adopted cat for the past two years and had developed a deep affection for it. She ended her life within 30-35 minutes of the cat’s death.
