The admission fee for Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) colleges in the State will be revised from the current academic year, Higher Education Minister M.C. Sudhakar informed the Legislative Council. Replying to Congress member Madhu G. Made Gowda, the Minister said that the admission fee for B.Ed. colleges in the State had not been revised for the past 26 years. In view of this, the government has constituted a five-member State-level committee to examine the issue. A decision on revising the fee structure will be taken based on the recommendations submitted, he said. Mr. Sudhakar said a meeting had already been held under the chairmanship of the secretary of the Higher Education Department to discuss the issue in detail. The fee structure of professional courses in Karnataka as well as in other States was reviewed as part of the deliberations.
