KARTHIKEYAN Voter awareness programmes are being conducted in Dindigul district with a message to achieve 100 % voter turnout. Over 2,000 women, particularly students, participated in the awareness programmes held on Monday and transgender persons participated in the events held on Tuesday, in the district. Dindigul Collector S. Saravanan attended the event on Monday. He flagged off an awareness rally at M.V. Muthiah Government Arts College for Women in Dindigul. Postcards with messages on the importance of voting were dispatched at the event. The students were urged to exercise their franchise without fail. A voter awareness programme was also held at the Dindigul Collectorate. On Tuesday, transgender persons participated in the voter awareness programme held in Reddiapatti in Dindigul District. Assistant Collector (Training) C. Vinothini attended the event. A pledge was taken that they would cast their vote without fail. Competitions were also held as part of the voter awareness programme. As part of the awareness campaign, awareness stickers are being pasted and banners with such messages are being displayed at shops and other places.
