Tiruchengode, an education hub housing popular private colleges, is situated 37 km from Namakkal Town. The constituency, with over 2,000 rig vehicles, is considered the rig capital of the country. Around 50,000 people are involved in spinning mills and power looms. Groundnut is the major crop.

The famous Arthanareeswarar Temple attracts thousands of people during the annual festival held in the Tamil month of Vaikasi. The constituency consists of Tiruchengode Taluk, Tiruchengode Municipality, Mallasamudram Panchayat Union, a portion of Elachipalayam panchayat union and Mallasamudram Town Panchayat.
