Attukal Pongala works to be expedited

A meeting to review the preparations for the Attukal Pongala has decided to expedite the completion of works ahead of the event that will be held on March 3.

Mayor V.V. Rajesh presided over the meeting that was held at the city Corporation conference hall here on Thursday. Heads of government departments and Corporation councillors attended the meeting.

Discussions were held on infrastructure works, including road tarring, in connection with the Pongala; drinking water availability; vehicle parking facilities; sewerage systems; activities taken up in connection with the health sector; and those to be held in coordination with various departments. It was decided to prepare an estimate of the works to be taken up and complete these without delay.

Deputy Mayor Asha Nath G.S.; Attukal Temple Trust president V. Sobha; Corporation Secretary Jahamgir S.; Deepak Dhankher, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) attended the meeting.
