The Congress and DMK on Sunday (March 22, 2026) broadly agreed to share 15 seats each in the 30-member Puducherry Assembly, which goes to the polls on April 9. West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee on Sunday (March 21, 2026) kickstarted her campaign for the Bhabanipur Assembly constituency with a workers’ meeting. The meeting was held at Ahindra Mancha, with eight councillors of the Trinamool, including Minister Firhad Hakim, who is also a councillor from the area, also present. With this, the party has declared candidates for 101 of the 126 seats in the State Assembly.
