Two persons, including a migrant labourer, were murdered as an armed gang apparently under the influence of alcohol or drug unleashed an unprovoked attack on the passers-by on Monday night. A 6-member armed gang attacked indiscriminately passers-by near Perumpaththu, a hamlet on the Nanguneri – Ervadi Road under the Nanguneri police station limits on Monday night, in which a local and a north Indian migrant labourer died on the spot and five others sustained cut injuries. The identities of the deceased could not be established immediately.
