A community with a profound sense of faith and unity has the power to change the course of an era, observed Major Archbishop Mar Raphael Thattil. He was speaking after inaugurating the Syro-Malabar Church’s Empowerment Year 2026 at Mount St. Thomas, the headquarters of the Church. “A community becomes a history-defining force when faith is not confined to the individual level but is transformed into convictions that serve the common good. The collective unity fostered by dioceses, committed communities, families, youth, educational institutions, and social organisations is our true strength,” he said. Archbishop Thattil remarked that only through reform within such collective strength can the Church influence the direction of an era, grounded in values. Representatives of various levels of the Church participated in the meeting, held as a prelude to the first session of the 34th synod.
