A police team of the Arakkonam Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested the youth, who was on the run, involved in the assault of a 39-year-old man in Tiruttani railway station on Tuesday. A senior official of the GRP said T. Jamal was assaulted after he picked up a quarrel with two unknown persons in the railway station on January 30. In this incident, Jamal suffered injuries and after getting treatment in the Tiruttani Government Hospital, he filed a case. The GRP, based on the complaint, filed a case and were searching for the accused M. Manikandan, a resident of Senthamil Nagar in Tiruttani. The accused was arrested by a special police team from a hideout in Vellore on Tuesday.
