Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (APSWREIS) invited applications from eligible boys and girls for admissions into Class V and Junior Intermediate and existing vacancies in Class VI to X in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Gurukulams. A statement issued by the society on Tuesday said applications can be sent from January 20 to February 19, 2026, and aspiring students and parents can visit the website https://apgpcet.apcfss.in for details and online applications. The Government of Andhra Pradesh launched Social Welfare Residential Schools in 1983 with the objective of providing free, high-quality residential education to children belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other Backward Classes. Currently, the State has 190 Social Welfare Residential Institutions, comprising 67 boys’ institutions and 123 girls’ institutions, offering education from Class V to Intermediate. In 2022, all APSWRS and Junior Colleges were renamed as Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Gurukulams.
