The Chittoor police organised an anti-ragging awareness programme at Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Karvetinagaram mandal headquarters, emphasising zero tolerance towards ragging in educational institutions.

Speaking at the function, Deputy SP (Nagari) Syed Mohammed Aziz cautioned the students that ragging would destroy academic careers and personal lives, adding that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found indulging in the practice.

He urged students to adopt the slogan “Say No to Ragging – Embrace Anti-Ragging” as a personal principle, and said anti-ragging squads and institutional committees had been formed to prevent incidents.

Circle Inspector (Karvetinagaram) U. Hanumanthappa and Sub-Inspector Tejaswini were present and interacted with students during the session. The officials also sensitised students to cybercrime threats, provisions of the POCSO Act, and the importance of understanding good touch and bad touch. They spoke about the issues related to road safety, with students advised to compulsorily wear helmets while riding two-wheelers.

The police further cautioned the students about the dangers of drug abuse and narcotic substances, urging them to stay away from them. They highlighted the Dhairya Sparsha initiative aimed at strengthening safety mechanisms for women and girls, and appealed to students to report unlawful activities without fear.
