Kamini presiding over the Aerodrome Committee meeting at the Tiruchi airport on Friday. | Photo Credit: Special Arrangement An anti-hijack mock exercise was conducted at the Tiruchi international airport on Friday for 2026 with the aim of familiarising various stakeholders to the standard operating procedure to be adopted in the event of an aircraft being hijacked and to check the efficacy and preparedness of agencies to handle such eventuality. Various drills were conducted as per laid down procedures. Observations made by independent observers of the exercise were noted. Corrective measures will be incorporated within the standard operating procedures of the anti-hijack mock exercise in future.
