Accusing the previous YSR Congress Party government of hurting the sentiments of Hindus by its alleged involvement in the Tirumala prasadam scam, Home Minister V. Anitha said that YSRCP leaders had indulged in corruption involving crores of rupees. Questioning whether the YSRCP leadership had faith in Sanatana Dharma, she alleged that they lacked devotion and demanded that they apologise to the people over the issue.

Ms. Anitha was addressing the media at Payakaraopeta while participating in a development programme in Anakapalli district on Saturday. She laid the foundation stone for the expansion of the main road in Payakaraopeta at a cost of ₹5.25 crore. VMRDA Chairperson Pranav Gopal and Commissioner Tej Bharat were present.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the road expansion was being taken up in line with promises made during the elections and asserted that the development of Payakaraopeta would remain her priority.
