Anganwadi workers seek minimum special pension

Demanding minimum special pension, retired nutritious meal scheme, anganwadi workers and anganwadi assistants staged demonstration here on Wednesday.

The protestors said the minimum special pension of ₹6,750 with dearness allowance should be given to the retired nutritious meal scheme, anganwadi workers and the anganwadi assistants. The nutritious meal scheme, anganwadi workers and the anganwadi assistants drawing special timescale should be given timescale based on their service.

One-year maternity leave should be given to the nutritious meal scheme, anganwadi workers and the anganwadi assistants and the government should fill-up the vacancies to assuage the additional workload, they said.
