Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G.P. Raja Sekhar has outlined a broad institutional roadmap for the university, spanning academic reform, infrastructure renewal, and social outreach, as the institution marks its centenary year. In an interaction with The Hindu, he described the milestone as “an opportunity to reposition the University in a competitive higher education landscape.”

The university began its centenary activities on April 26, 2025, launching a year-long programme leading up to its 100th foundation day on April 26, 2026. “I assumed office on March 1, 2025, and despite the limited preparation time, we released a draft vision document on April 26, when the centenary activities formally began,” Mr. Raja Sekhar said.
