Andhra Pradesh: Private bus gutted due to short circuit, none hurt in Rajamahendravaram

A private travel bus was gutted due to a short circuit in the internal wiring system on Kovvur-Rajahmundry Gammon bridge in the early hours of Wednesday (January 7, 2026). The incident occurred when the private travel bus, operated by RRR Travels of Andhra Pradesh State, was heading to Visakhapatnam from Khammam.

“No casualty has been reported as the driver alerted the passengers about the short circuit before parking the bus on the Gammon bridge”, East Godavari Superintendent of Police D. Narasimha Kishore told The Hindu. 

As many as 10 passengers, driver and the conductor were present in the bus when the incident occurred. The police registered a case and the investigation is on.
