Leaving an opening in the median under Goripalayam flyover in Madurai will help reduce strain at the proposed roundabout. | Photo Credit: G. MOORTHY Though it is still incomplete, the new flyover at Goripalayam junction has considerably reduced the traffic congestion at the busiest junction in the city. The three-lane flyover has spared vehicles coming from Tamukkam junction and proceeding towards Nelpettai junction from wasting time and fuel while waiting for the signal for several minutes. When the work gets fully completed upon constructing the Sellur arm, the stretch between Tamukkam junction and Goripalayam junction will have three different flow of traffic movements.
