Amul, a dairy brand owner by Anand-based Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. (GVMMF), crossed ₹1 lakh crore in turnover in 2025-26, registering an 11% increase over the previous financial year, the federation said on Sunday (April 5, 2026).

The total un-duplicated revenue rose from ₹90,000 crore in 2024-25, the federation said.

GCMMF reported a sales turnover of ₹73,450 crore for the year, compared with ₹65,911 crore in the previous financial year.

The federation operates through Gujarat’s 18 district cooperative unions.

It has a portfolio of over 1,200 product packs and a distribution network across markets. The federation said product expansion and changes in consumption patterns contributed to the increase.

The development follows Amul being ranked as the top cooperative by the International Cooperative Alliance.

During the year, the federation expanded its presence outside India, including the launch of fresh milk in Europe and the United States.

The Union Minister of Home and Cooperation, Amit Shah, on July 6, 2025, launched Sardar Patel Cooperative Dairy Federation Limited under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies framework to link dairy cooperatives from outside Gujarat into a national network.

GCMMF chairman Ashokbhai Chaudhary said the turnover reflects demand and the work of 36 lakh dairy farmers.

Vice Chairman Gordhanbhai Dhameliya said the figures reflect the cooperative model.

Managing director Dr Jayen Mehta said the federation is expanding operations and linking producers with markets. “We are not just expanding our operations globally; we are expanding the very definition of what a farmer-owned institution can achieve in the modern world, ensuring that the fruits of technology and global trade reach the hands of the producers,” he said.

GCMMF said it has 3.6 million farmers, collects 31 million litres of milk per day and distributes over 24 billion packs annually across more than 50 countries.
