The Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) on Tuesday asserted that its founder-general secretary, T.T.V. Dhinakaran, was “under no confusion, hesitation and pressure” on the issue of alliance for the Assembly election. Refuting reports in sections of the media on the issue, the party, in a release, said that after the general council meeting held in Thanjavur on January 5, Mr. Dhinakaran had not planned to have public events on account of “his personal commitments and the Pongal festival. “He would announce the party’s position “at an appropriate time”. On Saturday,, he would garland the statue of the AIADMK founder and former Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran on Anna Salai in Chennai on the occasion of MGR’s birth anniversary, the release added.
