Photo: X/@ANI Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday (March 6, 2026) reiterated that India would be free from Maoist violence by March 31, 2026. Addressing the 57th Raising Day celebration of Central Industrial Security Force in Cuttack, Mr. Shah said, “I want to assure the people of the country that by March 31, 2026, India will be free from Naxalism. Those who dream of creating a Red Corridor from Tirupati to Pashupati will be completely defeated, and our security forces will establish full control.” “This will be a major achievement of our security forces. Many difficult operations were carried out during this anti-naxal campaign. Despite challenges, the security forces carried out every mission with determination and discipline, and made significant efforts towards eliminating Naxalism,” said Union Home Minister. The CISF has made a significant contribution in States like Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana in fight against left-wing extremist, he said. The Home Minister said in the coming days CISF will provide security to private industries under this hybrid mode as well. “Four years ago, the government developed a hybrid security model allowing CISF to provide security services to private industrial groups as well. I have examined the model which has been implemented with the most modern equipment, and in the coming days CISF will provide security to private industries under this hybrid mode,” he said. The CISF with two lakh personnel is currently responsible for the security of 361 important installations, including 70 airports in the country. Some of the important institutes and infrastructure include Statue of Unity of Sardar Patel, Parliament complex, dams and critical railway installations. Now the responsibility of port security was assigned to CISF which was also made the nodal agency for drone security, said Mr. Shah. “The Prime Minister’s vision is the development of the entire country and the realization of a Developed India by 2047. Where industrial installations and critical institutions are concerned, their security has been entrusted to the CISF, so there is no need for worry. CISF personnel are always ready to perform their duties in all weather conditions, day and night,” he said.
