The Department of Life Sciences at Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University), in collaboration with the American Chemical Society (ACS), hosted the ‘ACS Interactions: Symposium on Scientific and Career Development’ on January 12, 2026. The event marked a significant milestone as ACS celebrates its 150th anniversary this year.

Fr. Lijo P. Thomas, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Kristu Jayanti University presided over the symposium. Rajesh Parishwad, Senior Associate Director, Global Strategy for Society Programs at ACS, in his address emphasized the importance of global scientific collaboration and career readiness for young researchers.

The event featured distinguished experts, including P. Bineesha (Executive Director, IIWM), Prof. Tharamani (IIT Ropar), and Aparna Sharma (ACS). They led technical sessions on cutting-edge topics such as Biomolecule Detectors and Biosensors, Chemistry in Environmental Sustainability, and an overview of ACS resources for researchers.

A highlight of the symposium was the panel discussion on Emerging Careers and Readiness of Science Graduates, which explored frontier research, technological innovations, solutions to global challenges, and evolving career pathways in science.
