The restroom facilities at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital (MGMGH) in Tiruchi are being upgraded at an estimated cost of ₹2 crore to follow the latest hygiene protocols, the authorities have said. “In the Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care department, 20 toilets have been converted into western style, with completely new pipes. We have upgraded the washrooms in the Reproductive and Child Health department, with 12 western type and eight Indian type toilets, besides laying new floor tiles. Work on another 12 toilets is to be completed by the end of March,” S. Kumaravel, dean, MGMGH, told The Hindu.
