The Amaravati capital region in Andhra Pradesh is steadily evolving into a prominent institutional and infrastructure hub, with significant land allotments made across diverse sectors. According to the latest official data available from Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA), of the total 1,384.95 acres of land earmarked for allotment, 1,298.173 acres have been allotted to 109 institutions, while 87.28 acres remain available for allotment. The allotments span a wide spectrum of sectors including education, government institutions, healthcare, hospitality, banking and sports. The education sector has received the largest share of land, with 18 institutions allotted approximately 838.66 acres. Amaravati is positioning itself as a major education hub with the expansion of premier institutions such as SRM University (200 acres – Phase II) at Kuragallu and VIT-A.P. University (200 acres – Phase II) at Inavolu, Sakhamuru and Velagapudi. In the hospitality sector, 14 hotels in five, four and three star categories have been allotted 45 acres to encourage rapid growth of tourism and business infrastructure in the capital region. Prominent hotel brands including Hyatt, Hilton (DoubleTree), Vivanta (Taj Group), Novotel, Ginger, Crowne Plaza, GreenPark and Daspalla are at various stages of development, with several projects already under construction in Mandadam, Thulluru, and nearby areas. Land has also been allocated for both office and residential purposes in the banking sector. About 13.93 acres has been allotted to 16 banks for office spaces, including major institutions such as RBI, SBI, NABARD, Punjab National Bank, Canara Bank, Union Bank of India, and Indian Bank. These facilities are spread across key locations such as Uddandarayunipalem, Lingayapalem, Velagapudi, and Rayapudi. Additionally, around 12.06 acres have been allotted to eight banks for residential quarters at Inavolu. As many as 14 institutions of the State government have been given 141.76 acres and the key establishments include A.P. Judicial Academy, A.P. Police Research Institute, A.P. Human Resource Development Institute, Civil Services Institute and A.P. State Disaster Response and Fire Services Department. A notable project is the Quantum Valley (50 acres) being set up under India’s National Quantum Mission, which is currently under construction. Key Central agencies such as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Income Tax Department, Indian Meteorological Department and Central Public Works Department (CPWD) have secured 48.5 acres of land, while projects like the Regional Passport Office and CPWD complexes are in the design stage and the IGNOU regional centre has already been completed. Of the 108.91 acres approved for the healthcare sector, the major allocations are for Employees State Insurance Corporation (25 acres) and Ministry of AYUSH (23.13 acres), Aditya Educational Society (23 acres) and NBTRCF Cancer Foundation (21 acres). Renowned healthcare providers such as Rainbow Children’s Hospital and LV Prasad Eye Institute are also part of the Amaravati healthcare ecosystem, with their projects in planning and approval stages. Another 58.439 acres have been given to organisations like the Confederation of Indian Industry (Global Leadership Centre), Ramakrishna Mission, Brahma Kumaris, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and a BJP party office. Projects of Brahma Kumaris and TTD have already been completed. Two major sports institutions — Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy at Abbarajupalem and the International Cricket Academy promoted by former cricketer M.S.K. Prasad Pitchikalepalem, are coming up in 24 acres of land. S.
