Ahead of the Intermediate Public Examinations-2026, scheduled to start from February 23 (Monday), Secretary of the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE), Andhra Pradesh, P. Ranjith Basha, on Saturday advised the students not to see the examinations as a challenge, but as an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills.

He said students should approach their answers with a calm and focused mind, free from stress.

“The effort and dedication you have invested will surely bring deserving results,” he said, conveying his best wishes to them.

In a statement, Mr. Basha said elaborate arrangements were made to ensure smooth conduct of the examinations. In all, 1,537 examination centres had been set up across the State and inspections completed to ensure that each centre had basic facilities such as safe drinking water, electricity, adequate ventilation, and lighting.

He said 10,57,312 students from both first and second year Intermediate would appear for the examinations this year, and all examination halls would be monitored through CCTV cameras. Under the supervision of District Collectors, District Examination Committees (DEC), along with flying and sitting squads, would conduct continuous inspections.

The APSRTC officials had been requested to operate additional bus services during examination days to ensure that students reached their centres on time. The services of an ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) or ASHA worker would be made available at each examination centre, besides first-aid kits and ORS (Oral Rehydration Salts) packets, he said.

Informing that the examination would commence at 9 a.m. sharp, Mr. Basha said, as per rules, students would not be allowed inside the examination hall even for a delay of one minute. “Therefore, students must reach the examination centre well in advance,” he advised.

He said the invigilators and other staff engaged in the examination duties should work with dedication to safeguard the sanctity of the examinations, in strict adherence of the rules.

Warning students and parents against believing in false propaganda or rumours, Mr. Basha said for any emergency, a control room had been established at the Board office, which would function from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a toll-free number — 1800-425-1531.
