All Cong. leaders will accept high command’s decision on leadership change: Minister

“All members of the Congress, including Ministers, legislators, leaders and workers, will accept the decision of the party high command on leadership change,” Minister and Congress leader Laxmi Hebbalkar said in Belagavi on Tuesday.

“We are all committed to adhering to the high command’s decision on the issue. However, we have been asked not to talk about it. It will not only be wrong to talk about it but also an unforgivable crime to do so,” she told reporters.

She was speaking at the launch of Akka Pade, an all-women police team aimed at protecting women and girls.

Ms. Hebbalkar said that she has asked officers to find a permanent solution to the problems of water scarcity in some of the areas in Belagavi, the district that has higher rain days than other districts.

“We will implement them in such a way that the people do not suffer any inconvenience this summer,” she said.

She said that she is requesting the State government to create a Belagavi rural taluk. She added that she is working towards building a bus stand in Hire Bagevadi village, which has now been upgraded from a gram panchayat to a town panchayat.
